about linda

A lifelong resident of the San Joaquin Valley, Linda strives to share the area’s richness with people of all ages. She has a varied background in the arts, including a BFA in graphic design from University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. From a young age, Linda was involved in music, theater and the visual arts. She’s been painting and winning awards for her work in Central California for many years.

After a 25-year career as a graphic designer and business owner, Linda earned a teaching credential in 2003. Linda currently serves on the board of directors at Stanislaus Arts Council in Modesto, and coordinates their CLASS teaching artist program which places teaching artists into local elementary schools. She also teaches classes in schools and privately.

As illustrator and author, Linda self-published a picture book, “Over in the Valley,” in 2010 and her second picture book, “Patient for Pumpkins,” was released by North Atlantic Books in 2014. Linda produced “Nature Beauty,” a coloring book in 2015, which contains a dozen intricately designed pages honoring her mother’s memory.

Linda is most inspired by the intimate beauty of nature. “My watercolor paintings and illustrations began many years ago as recordings of observed places and people. I want my audience to be intimate with my subjects. I have challenged myself to be more patient as I work so I can bring significant details to light.”
